Security
Your messages are the most private thing on the internet. Here's how we keep them that way, in plain language.
Your trusted person cannot read your messages.
They can only click one button — the button that says you have passed away. They never see message titles, content, audio, or video.
Only you can read your own messages.
Row-level security in our database blocks everyone else — including us — from reading the content of your messages while you're alive.
There is a 24-hour safety delay.
When your trusted person confirms your passing, we email you immediately with a one-click cancel button. Messages only send 24 hours later if the release is not cancelled.
Recipients never see anything until release.
Recipients only get their message after the 24-hour delay passes.
We never log message content.
Our email logs only contain metadata — recipient address, status, timestamp. Never message bodies.
Payments are handled by Stripe.
We never see or store your card details.
Email verification is required.
You must verify your email address before you can store messages, so no one else can pretend to be you.
